Diagnosing epilepsy means reading lines like these. We train the people who read them.

GOHE ships EEG equipment and trains technologists in places with few resources, so local partners can open neurology diagnostic centers in rural areas.

In a class of 26 children, about one will develop epilepsy in their lifetime.

Where there is no EEG, and no one trained to read one, that child's seizures can go undiagnosed. GOHE calls this the care gap.

Twenty-six lines, one for each child. Watch the one that changes.

A machine records the seizure. Someone trained has to read it.

Your gift helps with both halves. It began in 2015 at Mekelle University in Ethiopia, with three EEG systems and five students.

  1. Ship the machine

Donated EEG machines, electrodes and textbooks go out by container.

  2. Train the reader

Volunteer EEG professionals teach online, then in person, until the pattern means something.

  3. Name it, close to home

The goal: partners opening neurology diagnostic centers in rural areas, with graduates who teach the next class.
